In the latest edition of our “Meet the Team” series, we caught up with Shravani Pawar, a Senior Software Developer based in our Pune office. Shravani takes us through her journey from joining Xperate as a graduate to leading her own team, shares what it meant to be recognised as an Xperate MVP, and reveals the motivation that drives her every day. This inspiring conversation highlights her passion for technology, teamwork, and continuous learning.

Tell us a bit about yourself, and your role at Xperate.

I joined Xperate in June 2023 as a Software Developer, and it has truly been an incredible start to my career. I’m proud to share that I was promoted to Senior Software Engineer last December, which has been both a rewarding milestone and a motivating responsibility.

In my current role, I lead a team of six talented individuals. I work closely with clients to understand their challenges, analyse their requirements, and design technical solutions that genuinely address their business needs. I make it a priority to listen carefully, break down complex requirements into clear, actionable plans, and ensure that our team delivers high-quality work that adds real value.

My day-to-day work revolves around .NET, Angular, SQL, and managing my team, and I really enjoy the balance of logic, creativity, and problem-solving that comes with building end-to-end solutions. What motivates me most is knowing that the work we deliver has a direct and meaningful impact - helping clients work more efficiently, streamline their processes, and achieve stronger outcomes.

Overall, my journey at Xperate so far has been filled with learning, growth, and meaningful challenges, and I’m excited to continue contributing to both our team and our clients’ success.

Why did you want to join Xperate, and what is it about working at Xperate that you enjoy most?

When I was in college, Jaykumar Chougule, Xperate’s Chief Technical Architect, visited to talk about the opportunities at Xperate. He spoke about the technologies the company was using and the kind of projects they were working on, and it immediately caught my attention. I’ve always been fascinated by cutting-edge tech, so the idea of starting my career in a place like this really excited me.

From day one, I could tell that Xperate was a company that values continuous learning. There’s never a day when I’m not busy or challenged by something new - and I love that! The pace, the variety, and the chance to keep growing technically all keep me motivated.

What really stands out for me, though, is the culture. The leaders here are incredibly supportive and approachable, and there’s no such thing as a silly question. Everyone is so friendly and professional, which creates an environment where you feel confident to ask, learn and experiment. It’s a great feeling to be part of a team where curiosity and collaboration are genuinely encouraged.

What advice would you give to someone looking to grow their career in legal tech like you have?

I think the most important thing is to build a strong foundation in technology. Start by learning the fundamentals and understanding how different technologies connect - this will make it much easier to adapt as new tools and frameworks emerge.

Legal tech is a fast-moving industry with so many different technologies involved. You need to stay curious, flexible and open-minded because there’s always something new to explore. Right now, for example, AI is booming, and it’s a great reminder of how important it is to keep learning and stay up to date with what’s happening in the wider tech world.

Problem-solving is also a big part of the job. Every project brings its own challenges, and being able to think creatively and find solutions is what makes the work exciting. If you focus on continuous learning and developing your technical and analytical skills, you can build a really rewarding career in legal tech.

What challenges do you face in your role, and how do you overcome them?

There are always challenges in any role, but I see them as opportunities to learn and improve. In legal tech, one of the biggest challenges is balancing flexibility with meeting client expectations. Every client has their own goals, unique workflows, and strict compliance requirements, so staying adaptable while delivering exactly what they need is essential.

Another challenge is translating complex or evolving client requirements into clear technical solutions. It requires asking the right questions, understanding the real problem, and ensuring the approach is both scalable and maintainable. At times, managing multiple tasks or projects at once can also be demanding, but prioritising effectively and having open communication within the team helps keep everything on track.

As senior developers, we’re also responsible for ensuring code quality, staying updated with new technologies, and solving complex issues when they arise. These responsibilities help us grow and push us to think more strategically.

I’m fortunate to work with a talented, supportive team where everyone collaborates well and is always ready to help each other. Creating an environment where people feel comfortable asking questions and sharing ideas makes a huge difference - it strengthens the team and leads to better outcomes overall.

What did it mean to you to be selected as an Xperate MVP this year?

It was truly a moment of pride and gratitude for me. Being recognised as an Xperate MVP was an incredible feeling. It showed that the hard work I’ve put in has been noticed not only by my peers but also by our leadership team. It’s a reflection of the trust and confidence they have in me and my abilities, which means a lot.

For me, the award also reinforces what I believe in most, that teamwork, honesty, and open communication are the real keys to success. These values have shaped my journey at Xperate, and I’ve seen firsthand how they help us achieve great results together.

This recognition has encouraged me to share my knowledge even more with others and support my teammates wherever I can. We all grow together, and that’s something I love about Xperate. The company truly motivates people to keep learning, improving and being better every day. Receiving the MVP award has only made me more determined to continue growing and contributing to that positive culture.

What motivates you to achieve success?

For me, success is closely tied to growth, impact, and purpose. I’m motivated by knowing that the work I do can genuinely make a difference - whether it’s improving efficiency for a legal team, simplifying a complex process, or helping clients achieve their goals through technology.

Challenges also inspire me. Every new project brings unique requirements, learning opportunities, and chances to innovate. Overcoming these challenges and seeing the results come to life gives me a real sense of accomplishment.

I’m equally driven by continuous learning and self-improvement. I believe success is an ongoing journey of becoming better - as a professional, a teammate, and a person. The encouragement and appreciation I receive from colleagues and leaders at Xperate further motivate me and keep me passionate about my work.

How do you unwind outside of work?

Outside of work, I have a lot of hobbies that help me relax and recharge. I love travelling, drawing, and listening to music - they all give me a sense of freedom and creativity. Over the past few years, I’ve started exploring different parts of India, and my recent trip to the UK was a big milestone for me. Experiencing a completely new culture was something I’m really proud of.

I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family. They’re my biggest support system and source of happiness. Having time away from technology is really important to me, especially since I’m surrounded by it so much at work. It helps me find balance and come back refreshed for the next challenge.
