Key Responsibilities

  • Proficient in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and secure data pipelines and database systems.
  • Work extensively on MySQL, including indexes, partitioned tables, data types, triggers, functions, and views.
  • Manage and execute data migration projects using Stored Procedures, PL/SQL, and Database Migration Service (DMS).
  • Optimize database performance and ensure system reliability and availability using cloud data services.
  • Provide technical leadership to the data engineering team — plan, delegate, and monitor project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with analytics, product, and business teams to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and governance standards.

Technical Skills

Core Skills
  • 3+ years of experience in database development or data engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in MySQL (indexes, partitioning, functions, triggers, views, and data types).
  • Proven experience with data migration using Stored Procedures and PL/SQL.
  • Deep understanding of database services and performance tuning.
  • Exposure to open-source databases such as MongoDB.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Good to Have
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory or AWS Glue
  • Familiarity with ETL tools and data warehouse design.
  • Understanding of big data frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
  • Experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
