Xperate Strengthens North American Team with Two New Appointments

Xperate is pleased to announce the continued growth of our North American team with the appointment of two new team members, Paul Hugel and Nick Owen.

Demand for Xperate’s services across the North American region has continued to grow. As more law firms and legal technology providers look for practical support with implementation, data migration, integration and system optimisation, building a strong local team remains a key priority.

Paul and Nick will be working closely with Anand Ablack, President, North America, and the wider Xperate team to support clients across the region. Their appointments reflect both the momentum we are seeing in the North American market and our long-term ambition to keep developing Xperate’s presence internationally.

Meet Paul Hugel, Senior Solutions Consultant

Paul Hugel joins Xperate as Senior Solutions Consultant, bringing more than 20 years of experience in data migration, database engineering and system integration across both on-premise and cloud environments.

Paul has built a strong career supporting complex technical projects across the legal and financial sectors. His expertise includes SQL Server, ETL processes, data validation workflows, database development and performance optimisation.

Before joining Xperate, Paul held senior technical and team leadership roles, including leading complex legal data migrations to iManage Cloud. His work has involved designing and executing SQL-based ETL processes, supporting compliance, maintaining data accuracy and helping clients move between systems with minimal disruption.

With a strong focus on data integrity, automation and quality assurance, Paul is passionate about helping clients make confident decisions through clean, reliable and well-structured information.

His experience will further strengthen Xperate’s ability to support law firms with the technical details behind successful implementation and migration projects.

Meet Nick Owen, Solutions Consultant, Legal Accounting

Nick Owen joins Xperate as Solutions Consultant, Legal Accounting, bringing valuable experience in accounting, business administration and financial system transitions for law firms.

Nick specialises in using technology and automation to improve financial processes, streamline workflows and enhance the accuracy of financial data. With a strong foundation in accounting principles and a detail-focused approach, he understands the importance of reliable financial information in the smooth running of a law firm.

Throughout his career, Nick has supported data migrations, financial reporting processes and the implementation of accounting systems aligned with business needs and industry best practice. He has worked collaboratively across teams to improve data entry, reconciliation and reporting processes, helping organisations create more efficient and effective financial operations.

At Xperate, Nick’s legal accounting knowledge will play an important role in supporting firms through finance-related projects, system transitions and operational improvements.

His appointment adds further depth to the North American team and strengthens Xperate’s ability to support clients across the full lifecycle of legal technology change.
